My son and I just started a fishing club at Magnolia High School. First tournament is at Lake Livingston. Can anyone recommend any maps, software, apps, etc. that marks the stumps or preferred routes around Lake Livingston. My concern is all of the stumps and I know many other boat captains have the same concern. Another dad/boat captain from Monthomery and I were just discussing this yesterday at Lake Conroe. I've only fished out of kayaks St Livingston and that was down by the state park.

I've been doing some research but thought you guys might have some good resources. I have Navionics Platinum Hot Maps but not sure what all is marked on Lake Livingston. I'd like to have something like the Boat Lanes website has to download to the GPS. I do have a Hook-N-Line map for Lake Livingston. My sons friend just tore off his entire lower unit two weeks ago and while I know there are no guarantees I'd like to just get some more detailed info. We are having our first meeting tomorrow afternoon and I want to discuss this with the other parents providing boats.

South of the Bridge only a few hazards, north is always changing. Logs rolling down the boat lanes.

The south end of Lake Livingston is pretty clear of obstructions. The red shaded areas have scattered submerged stumps that could get ya. Most of the other stumps down south are visible. As said above north of the 190 bridge your guess is as good as mine on any given day. There is a boat lane marked coming out of Kickapoo but there are some hazardous areas out there as well. I'm just not as familiar with them because we primarily fish the south end of the lake.

What BMCD said.

However the tournament will go out of Waterfront. If you launch there, follow someone out to the bridge. You can run along the side of the highway. There is a boat lane heading south from the bridge, has markers, but has a couple of twists and turns in it. A lot of people will head north of the bridge to fish, not a fun ride unless you have been up there before.

I have run a boat as a fill-in captain several times.

Good luck to you guys.

Thanks, plan is to head south because we've fished there from kayaks before so a little familiar with a few areas. Plan is to stay at the RV park that is very close to the marina.

The last one I fished there in April I believe they allowed you to trailer as long as you checked in and out at Waterfront. Not sure if that will help you or not. Good luck.

I am in the situation but will be fishing out of the Kickapoo area. I have no idea how to go south from there but need to figure it out pretty soon. I was looking for someone that I could trail behind and at least have it marked on the GPS. I know nothing about the lake but looking at maps was interested in Brushy Creek and Palmetto Creek areas. I guess you can get there from Kickapoo.

I'm going to try and get up there before the tournament and get a little familiar with the lake. I'll try and get a photo of my GPS and tracks I've run. Probably need to do it soon in case I do any damage but plan on taking it slow to familiarize myself some.

The boat lane going south from Kickapoo is fairly well marked. I would run it in daylight to have a track laid down.

Well that's a big help. Thank you for that info. I didn't know that there were marked lanes. I appreciate the input.
I appreciate it.

Depends on when tournament is I might be able to meet up with you and ride so you can save trails. I am very familiar from white rock south and very familiar with Kickapoo. Just let me no
