Fished from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, caught 2 sand bass and 2 catfish while targeting whites/stripers. All fish were caught with chartreuse slabs bouncing off the bottom. Tried burning some with no luck, tried some swimbait and a blade bait with no luck. I guess I just don't know how to fish I don't know. We passed the same point 4 times running the lake where the birds were having a feast the entire day. Hundreds of birds dive bombing, for really the entire day. The first time I stopped it looked like sharks circling the way 5 or six boats surrounded them. I did not catch a fish or see a single fish caught there. I tried fishing from 15-35 feet of water, caught only fish around 25 ft.

Did anyone have better luck yesterday? What were you doing differently? Any tips on finding the fish? Because I'm sure the guys who know the lake were still pulling in boatloads. If I can figure out how, I will load pictures of graphs/typical spots I fished yesterday. I only have sonar.

These were some typical spots fished with zero luck, I didnt take a picture every time I thought I should catch a fish or something. Im just wondering for you guys who are really successful, what are you looking for that you dont see here. Do you find the perfect spot and then lock the trolling motor and fish for 10 minutes? If you dont catch fish there do you change tactics or spots. Are you drifting to locate them. Anyone....

I would just like to catch a limit every now and then without having to book a guide...

Thats the same luck I've had this year on Ray Hubbard.....and I have fished RH for over 40 years...

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing. Relationship is a guy fishing thinking about God!

I was out the weekend before last and did not have any luck either. Tried most of the humps around the lake but came up empty. I found some action on my Helix 10 but it was dead most of the day and did not catch a single fish! I have only had 2 great trips on Tawakoni since moving my boat here earlier this year. Would love some pointers or tips if anybody would like to shoot me a PM. The 2 great trips I did have, were straight out in front of Arm Point in 35ft of water with hundreds of birds diving into the water. Probably seen over 100 fish splashing the top of the water over a 45 minute span.

think it was the weather yesterday, we struggled on eagle mountain. Same thing, found schools of them but only caught a couple.
