Pretty excited to head there in the morning. First time fishing that lake. Looking to start at the 35 bridge and go from there. See you guys out there.

Hit the old I-35 pillings on the very south end closest to the bank, last three on the west. They were loaded. Many dinks but you get a solid keeper once in a while. Drag the jig across the bottom.

Good luck, stay safe.

Ended up with 9 short crappie and 4 short bass. Dad and I had a blast. Cant wait to go back out tomorrow, and hopefully grab a few keepers.

Is it illegal to tie off to the bridges?

Nope, its legal. If your on the West side of the lake, the timber north from Pilot Knoll park also holds some crappie.

I hit the timber up Hickory Creek last weekend and nada. Water was still very muddy. I 35 and west have been a lot of dinks all summer. Timber in clearer water has been where I have found some decent fish. Also, poles in the marinas early and late. Good luck.

Preserving Texas fishing heritage one lure at a time.

Yeah muddy water will kill the bite. Hopefully, once it clears up, it will get better. I haven't tore them up on that side of the lake during the summer but have caught enough to keep it interesting.
