Fayette was a different lake today. I hadn't been on the lake since earlier this year and it is way up. The water looks as pretty as I have ever seen it and I've been fishing it for 20 years now. As good as the water looked, the fishing wasn't great - at least by Fayette standards. I expected them to be deep like they typically are and they just weren't out there. I fished with another fellow and we caught two on c-rigs out on the end of rocky points. The rest of the 25ish fish came from 2-3 foot of water. I was shocked.

Maybe we just sucked today.

Lake high fish move shallow to new flooded cover. When water gets up on Fayette the reeds hold so mamy fish it's stupid. 25 still a fun day.

Never actually flipped the reeds - thought about it.

When I've seen the water get up on that lake, after some time the grass dies and fish move.
