Hi guys! I normally hang out in the fly fishing section - visit here occasionally. I just put together a sand bass video and wanted to see what you guys think. https://vimeo.com/180074644

Was it Ray Roberts? I love it when the shad are jumping out of the water like that. This is just in jest so do not take it personally. From the general conscious here on the Forum, there are several things wrong in the video. The boat is too small. 22 footers are a minimum. The motor is under 250 HP & it is a rope pull. The trolling motor is not an ipilot, but hand controlled. The lure is not the latest 4 oz. chartreuse $15.00 model. How in the world did you land those fish with such antique methods?

Let's see the boat set up! Looked like a very well though out rig. Always fun catching them on the fly!

Let's see the boat set up! Looked like a very well though out rig. Always fun catching them on the fly! Its a fourteen foot flat bottom with a 25 horse. It also doubles as a flats skiff down on the coast. I built the floors and decks out of aluminum and the center console and seat is fiberglass over 1/4' plywood. the poling platform is conduit that I bent and welded and has an aluminum top.

I like both the video production and your boat. Good job with both. I sense you had a director and a camera crew on the back of your boat? Good job! Lavon was like that this morning. Finally some bigger shad being knocked out of the water, all around me.

Thank you Todd. No camera crew or director, just me running circles around the boat, checking camera angles and making sure everything is still in focus - then grab a rod and get back on the fish. I figure you get "the sense" from the clip were my mouth is moving. I had originally planned on having some audio in it but once I picked the music it just didn't seem to work - plus, I hate the way I sound in these things. I saw your post on Lavon - looks like you had a heck of a day.

awesome video. Top water is my favorite way to catch sandbass. You just can't get better than that sound when a big school is slapping the top, sounds like a waterfall.

Souns Ike and a hard rain to me. If the fish are really packed tight, it sounds like a steak on the grill.

I've been a part of this TFF almost since the very beginning and must say....that was one of the top two videos I have ever seen!!!! the fishing was amazing and the music was top notch!!! simply enchanting! Good job! (the absence of "Boom-Shaka-Laka" made it ESPECIALLY GOOD!!!!!

Great video. It has been a long time since I have seen schooling fish like that.
