Anyone have an ethanol problem with the new blue lettered grey gas line and bulb? Mine was replace in June and have been having fuel pressure issues. Took the line apart from the boat and the clear liner was releasing from the gas line and very little fuel was even making it to the bulb. Went back to the dealer and they gave me a different type of fuel line and new bulb. My mechanic recommended the new blue lettered grey fuel line and he had not seen this before.

I had that problem too. I removed all the grey line completely. That inner liner separates from the grey hose then compresses under pressure cutting fuel flow. I got new line at Napa made for fuel but without the inner liner. I think it was $2 and some change per foot, not sure.

Seeing trouble with a lot of the fuel line. Seeing fuel filters with black sand from the black automotive fuel line. I am wondering if it is additive`s causing much of the problem.

I'm going to put my two cents in here. I know others who have had gas line problems as well. One mechanic said it was lack of additives and suggested using Shell or Chevron due to the additives they have in their gas. I used Shell in my previous boat for 10 years with no problems and I'm using it in my current boat (5yrs) and no problems to date. This mechanic said not use Valero gas, that's what ate up the lines in these other boats. Just my two cents.

Up into this year I never had Ethanol gas in my boat. Put some in in March and added a double dose of Marine green Sta-bil. I have a fuel pump that I use to pump gas out of my boat into our cars. Early July decided to pump it out and found that the supposed Ethanol resistant blue strip hose inner liner had separated.

So my takeaways are if your going to use it don't let it stay in your boat for longer than 2-3 weeks.

Don't trust marine ethanol resistant/rated Sta-bil

Don't trust that what you get from the pump is E10 or less. They are already trying to up the percentage and I believe that what most gas stations offer is already beyond 10%.

Funny, Valero is a top tier gas provider just like Shell. I guess your mechanic has something against American oil producers.
