Fished a piece of God's Country and the bite was "OUTSTANDING"! I also have two new friends who have the Nueces River in their backyards. Louis and Robert are simply living the dream and wake up to some outstanding scenery everyday. Both men let me fish their property and Louis even guided me to some super spots. The river is in GREAT shape and flowing well. I caught a bunch of nice Longear,a nice Rio,several nice bass, and a some nice Redbreast! Fish were caught using both Gulp Alive Night Crawlers, and live night crawlers. Both float and bottom techniques were used. Fish were hanging close to drop offs by the deep pockets of the river and by grass beds. The Longear were hanging at the ends of currents. The water was crystal clear and there was a nice breeze blowing. All fish were released. I fished from 2pm till 4:30pm. Spent most of the day talking and getting to know Louis and Robert. Louis also showed me other spots to fish in the future. I also caught a nice Redear which will be the pending Nueces River Redear Record. This will go with my New Redbreast Record also on the Nueces. (Will post a story later). Fishing some very beautiful country deep in the hart of Texas and meeting two very nice men living the dream! It just don't get any better! fish

Thanks Tun3r for the reply! cheers Yes Sir I met Eric last week and weighed a Flathead Catfish for him. I met him at his docks and weighed the fish there. It is the pending Flathead Record for Placid. I posted a story in the catfish section of the form. He is a pretty neat guy who loves to fish. thumb

Oh my goodness. It doesn't get any prettier than that. You were blessed to be invited to fish that place Banker, as I'm sure you know. That's what I call a little slice of heaven.

No doubt, God has spoiled him with some of the best pan fishing spots in the entire world. And he catches trophy fish daily, it just a'int right, is it? smirk

Thanks Bob,Jamie and trapperben for the replies. cheers I love bank fishing plane and simple! I do have some pretty good places to fish. Most land owners will let you fish their property if you show yourself responsible, respectful, and truly love the outdoors. There will always be some who will not let you fish their property. I can understand that also. thumb I have always shown respect for all the land owners and their property as well. I have met some AWESOME people over the years! rockon
