Orvis Hydros SL or TFO BVK. What say you in a 5wt?

I have the Orvis hydros 5 wt and I like it. Never fished the BVK so can't compare.

According to the Yellowstone Angler 2016 5 wt reel shootout they thought the hydros was too heavy because it had the same drag system as the hydros 8 wt (which they liked). Interesting though the hydros and bvk finished in a tie in the shootout.

The hydros is about $50 cheaper.

No experience with either reel, but IMO you don't need a fancy drag with a 5wt or under. I use a Galvan Brookie 4/5 wt. Super nice, but it's a click and pawl. No reel drag, but I've never needed a drag when fishing anything 5 wt and under. I'll just palm the reel if I need to slow down fish. Anything above, I use a Galvan Torque.

The Orvis and BVK are nicely priced though. You probably can't go wrong with either on a 5wt.
