I see Lake Texana on the map but never hear or read anyone bass there. What is the story?

Driven by it a few times. Looks like a catfish hole. Super shallow and muddy. Probably a few bass in there.

I've looked at the navionics web app for Texana and it has some good looking structure, which surprised me considering its location on the coastal plain.
Always wondered if the lake had any bass. Or maybe the number of alligators is greater than bass. I'm a kayak fisherman...for some reason this lake seems like an alligator lake...a big gator lake.

When I lived in Corpus, we fished a lot of tournaments back in the 80's. It was a decent lake at times. Low water levels for many years killed it. Its very shallow and hard to run. The Jungle had some decent fish it for a few years many years back. The water even cleared up for a while back then. It pretty much drys up every couple of years. I haven't fished it in 30 years.
It was never one my favorite lakes.
Thanks, Billy
