What in the world is a transducer? I've seen a few posts lately about them. I know it has something to to with electronics but not much past there. Thanks yall

The transducer also has a cable coming from it that plugs into the head unit/screen. Transducer can be mounted to the bottom of your trolling motor, the hull of your boat, etc..

That is what sends the sound down to the bottom and receives the echos back to send through the wire to the sonar/fishfinder to display on the screen.
