Heading to Hubbard tomorrow afternoon to give it a try but I'm not all that familiar with the lake. Was hoping to get some input on current patterns and or areas to try? I've also heard that there some hazards tha i should be aware of so any input on that would be greatly appreciated as well.

You should be able to fish the Hwy 30 rocks and catch fish. The marinas will produce fish. And there is plenty of overgrowth from when the lake levels were down. As far as running the lake, if you stay between the dam to 30 you are fine. When you go under the bridge at 30 is when you have to be careful.

The rain and cool weather have put fish where you's suspect they'd be in fall. Lots of shad in the creeks right now.

I tried shallow Sunday and nothing. A couple half hearted bites was all. Should have fished deep. I couldn't get a thing in Yankee Creek. The lake kicks my butt more often than not. Good luck.

I caught a fish in Yankee creek once. ONCE.
The rocks hold fish all year. Unfortunately, everyone knows it and those fish probably see a lot of lures. They won't always bite, but they're there. Cranks will catch 'em when they're active and a shakey head or drop shot will often catch them when they're not active.

Appreciate all the input. I wasn't aware there will be a working man's tourney tomorrow but we'll see how it goes.
