This will be a 3 fish limit and its hot you guys so use your fish care expertise!

We will have some hot dogs and drinks at weigh-in in order to get to know each other!

Schedule:
August 19th
August 26th
September 9th
September 23rd
October 7th
October 21st

Entry Fees:
$ 20.00 per tournament.....with 10 participants or less pays two places

With 11 participants or more pays three places
50% for 1st...30% for 2nd...20% for 3rd
$5.00 entry (optional) for big bass.....100% payout to biggest bass

Rules: This is an "On Your Honor" tournament designed to have some fun, build friendships and win a little money. Typical bass tournament rules apply. Be respectful, have fun! Although a dead fish CANNOT be weighed in for big fish and a dead fish will cost a 1/2 LB. PENALTY. All final decisions will be made by Pat Ball and myself.

Please PM me your name, email, and phone number if you will attend, have any questions or have any ideas to me. Other than that; State Park, North ramp, Registration from 4:30 to 5pm. See ya there!

Well, the first one is done and in the books. There were 19 participants! Great turn out and lots of fun! The wind decided to blow 30 mph the day of the tournament after 2 weeks of no wind! Welcome to south Texas. We had people travel as far away as Coletto Creek to fish and we appreciate ya! Below are the results:

1st place...Jere Koonce with 7.20 lbs...$190.00
2nd place...Lee Lopez with 6.54 lbs...$144.00
3rd place... Bob Koonce with 4.12 lbs...$76.00
Big Bass....Lee Lopez @ 3.58 lbs...$95.00

The wind caused tough fishing conditions with big waves and the inability to hold on to some fishing spots. Shallow the water muddied up pretty good but all in all we had a great turn out and met some good people over hot-dogs and cold drinks! Next up...this Friday August 26th!
See ya there!
God bless

Sorry to be getting this out so late but been super busy! Got a day off so I figured I would get this done.

I want to start by telling ya'll there was a discrepancy in the weights for 3rd place. Fact is, we miss calculated. Going to fast, I don't know but we are gonna slow down a bit. Anyway, Michael Ramirez was announced as 3rd with 2.98 lbs when Paul Brittain's weight came in at 3.06 lbs. When Chris and I got home and went through the paper work we found the discrepancy.

I have called Paul and set the record straight and will be giving him a 3rd place payout ($60) at the next weigh-in. Michael will not be required to return the prize money as the issue is of no fault of his.

I apologize for the mistake and we will work harder so as this will not happen again.

That being said, lets talk fishing! It was tough! 17 people fished, with 15 paid entries, and only eight fish weighed in. I don't know where these little greenies went but I am gonna be looking for them the next few weeks. With the lake up 4-5 ft they could have went anywhere!

Results for Tournament #2

1st place.....Max Gonzales...2 fish for 3.68 lbs

2nd place....NIcolas Gould...1 fish for 3.38 lbs

3rd place.....Paul Brittain......1 fish for 3.06 lbs

4th place.....Michael Ramirez..1 fish for 2.98 lbs

Next event will be Friday Sept. 9th

Again, thank to all for the great turn outs, the food, and the drinks. Thanks to South Texas Marine for their continued support and running the weigh-in for us! See ya'll Sept. 9th!

God bless

Well the 3rd event is in the books. More fish seem to have been caught in different ways. As usual, the 30mph winds played a part. Whether you braved them to fish open waters or ran to protected pockets fish seem to be everywhere. Still lots of undersize but that only means the lake will get better and better, providing our water isn't taken away from us.

Special shout out to Max Gonzales for supplying us with some eats! Mr. Pizza from Ben Bolt supplied us with all we could eat pizza and I must say, it was very good! Took one home! So if your in the Ben Bolt area, be sure and stop by Mr. Pizza. You will be glad you did!

On to fishing! It was our biggest turn out so far! We had 21 participants. For the first time, limits were brought to the scales. Below are the final standings:

1st Place.......Will Ramirez......3 fish for 7.50 lbs $210.00

2nd Place......Robert Divin......3 fish for 6.76 lbs $126.00

3rd Place......Lee Lopez.........1 fish for 3.76 lbs $84.00

Big Bass.......Lee Lopez..........3.76 lbs $105.00

The fish are starting to bite a little better, its a little cooler, the crowds getting bigger, and we eat! The payout aint to shabby for a bunch of lake rats! Come out and join us! Fun, fishing, food, and camaraderie. Our next tournament will be Sept. 23rd (Friday Night), at the State Park. See ya there!!

God bless

Robert

Well, number 4 is in the books. I was unable to make it as I was fishing a B.A.S.S. Federation regional championship......"don't ask"

Another big night though! 17 total fishing and appears by the numbers, it was tough, although for the second tournament in a row we had 2 limits caught by Ben Boyce and Larry Barcroft. Fish seem to be getting bigger as Big Bass came in at 4.66! Had some newbies join us and it looks as though one of them got a check. Ringer? Lol!!

We welcome all! Having a good tournament, good food, and great camaraderie! Below are the final results for tournament #4:

1st place.....Ben Boyce.............3 fish for 9.92lbs $170

2nd place....Larry Barcroft.........3 fish for 7.12lbs $100

3rd place.... Paul Britton............2 fish for 4.98lbs $70

Big Bass.....Ben Boyce..............4.66lbs $85

The next event will be Friday night October 7th at 5pm. I will sadly miss you guys again as I play in the Cross Trails Cowboy Church Praise Team (the band) and we have a practice that night. I ain't missing the last one though!! If you guys are looking for a non-denominational church with some really cool people, its hard to beat a Cowboy church. We are in Orange Grove. Come on by! (a little plug there for the LORD!)

On another note, I would like to see us put a Bass Club together for next year. There are many things and ways that this could be done. If this interest you, email me and let me know. I think we could see how many are interested and then have a meeting and go over ideas.

On that note....Have a great week! See ya soon!

God bless

Number 5 is in the books. Although participation has stayed high with Chris, Pat, and myself out, there were still 18 fishing. We have ran between 18 and 22 per tournament and that far exceeded what Pat and I anticipated. Thank you so much for your turn-out. I have met a lot of great people and had a blast!

With that being said, the sticks might have shown up but it seems the fish didn't. With a cold front on the horizon and lake levels up I would have thought the bite would be pretty good. There were only 14 fish weighed in at 33.48 lbs. Below are final results for week #5:

1st place.....Terry King 2 fish for 6.90lbs $ 180.00

2nd place....Ryland Kirchoff 2 fish for 5.76lbs $ 108.00

3rd place.....Robert Cantu 2 fish for 5.40lbs $ 72.00

BIG BASS Ryland Kirchoff 4.40lbs $ 90.00

Sure would like to see everyone make this last one, Friday night Oct 21st. Gonna have some eats, drinks and discuss setting up tournaments for November and December. Week-end one day thing. Also will have a board to sign up if you are interested in a club for 2017. I would like to get everyone that would be interested sign up, then set a meeting for us to get together and see what we want to do. Oh, and we are going to fish!

So come on! Bring a friend! Spread the word! See ya Friday night!

God bless

Robert

Well the final tournament is in the books. We finished with a bang by catching more fish and producing more weight than any of the previous five! We ended up with 16 entries. There were 17 fish caught with a total weight of 35.68lbs. There were more limits caught than before and big bass stayed in that 4lb range. Below are the final numbers for #6:

1st place.....Lee Lopez 3 fish for 8.64lbs $160.00

2nd place....Jere Koonce 3 fish for 6.04lbs $95.00

3rd place.....Paul Britton 2 fish for 4.10lbs $65.00

BIG BASS Lee Lopez 3.92lbs $80.00

Overall, I took the liberty to break down the series by points (100,99,98,etc) with 25 points being awarded for fishing a tournament and not weighing in a fish. Believe it or not, we had a total of 46 participants that fished at least one tournament. How awesome is that! Below are the top 12 for the series. Give a big shout out to our Angler of the Year...PAUL BRITTAIN !!

1st.....Paul Brittain 6 tourn. fished 441 pts.

2nd....Nick Gould 5 tourn. fished 407 pts.

3rd.....Bob Koonce 6 tourn. fished 357 pts.

4th.....Lee Lopez 5 tourn. fished 347 pts.

5th.....Terry King 5 tourn. fished 341 pts.

6th.....Ben Boyce 4 tourn. fished 316 pts.

7th.....Robert Divin 4 tourn. fished 312 pts.

8th.....Jere Koonce 6 tourn. fished 299 pts.

9th.....Max Gonzales 3 tourn. fished 292 pts.

10th Robert Cantu 5 tourn. fished 266 pts.

11th Will Ramirez 4 tourn. fished 244 pts.

12th Chris Divin 4 tourn. fished 240 pts.

Again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all for such a tremendous turn out. The friendships made are beyond compare. With 46 participants I am sure that we can put a very fun and fulfilling club together for 2017. I look very forward to building our club.
A BIG shout out to South Texas Marine for supplying the weigh-in equipment and eats for us. Also a BIG shout out to The Pizza Man (Max Gonzales) for supplying pizzas for us. Be sure and recognize our donors as we really appreciate their contributions!
We will be holding tournaments in November and December. These will be one day tournaments on Saturdays fishing from 7:30am to 2pm. All our rules apply and they will be run just as we did the Summer Series. The gates don't open at the state park until 7am so be in line early! We will register you at the ramp then unload and go fish! OR if you are going to be late you must call either Pat Ball or myself to let us know you will be there. Then register at weigh-in. It is imperative that you notify us you are fishing. One in fairness to the ones that make it on time and two if you are out there we will go out looking for you if you don't make weigh-in. Also Lee Lopez had a good idea to pass out phone numbers so that we can reach someone if needed and also if we have others that want to fish that don't have a boat, we can call around for open back seats. I will put a list of everyones numbers together and hand them out at the November tournament. The more the merrier !

November 12th....state park

December 10th....state park

Club update: we will hold a meeting at my house after the weigh-in of the November tournament. I am 5 minutes from the state park so it is close. We will have some burgers or hotdogs or something and discuss what type of club we want top have. I figured we could wrap it up within a few hours and get the club started by Jan. 2017. So if your interested in being at the meeting please email me and let me know. Need a head count for burgers!

See ya November 12th at the state park!

Bring a friend!

God bless

Another successful turn out! We had 25 participants with some regulars missing and some newbies! You may find this hard to believe but we did have additions in the tournament and that puts the number at 50 that have fished at least one tournament with us. Glory to God! That's awesome!

It seems the gate to the park was open early so that helped. I think there will be one rule change for our December tournament. START FISHING @ 6:45 AM!! Weigh-In stays at 2pm. Get on the lake when you can, be sure and let us know if you put in somewhere besides the State Park so that we know you are there! Call either Pat Ball or myself. I will be at the State Park earlier this time to sign in who goes out there. Register and pay at the ramp at weigh-in. On a side note, I cannot thank you guys and girls enough for making this so easy to coordinate. Thanks for the honesty, morals, and ethics. It means a lot. Our country could learn a lesson from people such as yourselves.

MOVING ON! It appears one of the Koonce clan took our money again! With the other Koonce, being just edged out of a check to 4th place. Come on guys and gals; these Koonce aren't even from here! Lol!! Just kidding! A great job again by our Koonce team! Below are the final results and the fishing seems to be picking up!

1st place...Jere Koonce with 8.30lbs...$230

2nd place...Robert Divin with 7.78lbs...$140

3rd place...Terry King with 7.74lbs...$90

Big Bass...Terry King @ 4.98lbs...$115

Decemeber 10th will be our next event, same rules but remember; START FISHING TIME WILL BE AT 6:45 AM!! Weigh-In still at 2pm.

As most of you are aware we had a meeting about having a Bass Club in 2017. The interest is very high and the rules and type were pretty much set at the meeting. I will be sending out a format soon as I am working on laying the Club out. Each will receive a copy at the December 10th tournament and we will collect registration then if you wish to sign up. If any discussion about changes needs to be brought up, we will do that at weigh-in in December. Any way.....more to follow!!

Chris and I would like to take this time to extend our deepest gratitude to each of you and to wish ya'll a very blessed Thanksgiving. We pray that each of you give thanks to what you have and accept the grace God gives us.

Happy Thanksgiving

Until Later

Robert

Saturday December 10th:
A Reminder boys and girls! Its this Saturday Dec 10th @ the State Park. Put in where ya want, on your honor, start fishing at 6:45am. Weigh in at 2pm. Must be beached at the ramp by 2pm! Rules and everything thing else is same-o same-o. I will be at the ramp or gate which ever one I can get too, at 6:30am. I will just sign you in and unload and go. If you go out anywhere else you must call or text either myself or Pat Ball.

We will be registering for the 3 C's BASS CLUB after weigh-in. There will be a reading of the rules and explanation of the Clubs goals and commitments followed by an open floor for comments. The Club dues are $50.00 for the year 2017 and that is all you will be required to bring. A check will do as we are going to open a checking account in the Club's name. We will explain the financial system during the reading of the rules.

Just wanted to express my thanks to all again and Chris and I look forward to a wonderful blessed time in 2017 with all of you! See ya Saturday! Watch the weather and dress accordingly

DEC 2016 Tournament:
BRRRRrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! That's how it started but the good Lord blessed us with no rain and very little wind, unless you ran the north end. It got a little choppy! Like bouncing around in a bowl of chocolate milk. Never did warm up enough to pull the overalls off. At least for me.

Even with the weather conditions the way they were, we still had a great turn-out! There were 19 paid entries that braved the cold. I'm figuring the fish were cold too as only 20 fish for a total of 41.96lbs were weighed in. Although that's a pretty healthy average fish! I'd take 5 of them in any tournament! Now, some may only have 1 little guy and decide not to weigh him. Keep in mind if you are fishing the club in 2017, the Angler of the Year and the Top 6 Team will be made by weight, not points! That one little fish could when you sumpin! Tournaments are won by ounces.

BB (Big Bass) shrunk on us a little as it came in at 3.60 Lbs. Although several 3's and some heavy 2's were brought to the scales. Below are the final results for the Dec 2016 tournament.

1st place...Lucas Lopez with 5.42lbs...$200

2nd place...Paul Brittain with 5.30lbs...$120

3rd place...Max Gonzalez with 4.16...$80

Big Bass...Ben Boyce III @ 3.60lbs...$90

RULES CHANGE:

This will serve as an addendum to the rules. We will call it AD#1

* The entry fee will be set at $25 dollars with the $5 still being paid out to BB. This rule will in effect just make everybody pay the same at each tournament. It will still be divided $20 to places and $5 to BB

*Weigh-In time will change from 2pm to 3pm. We have people that come out and fish with us and some work on Saturdays so they get there late. It gives them opportunity to fish a little more as they pay the same as we do. Besides, 3pm has always been the time. The lakes we are fishing we can all reach within an hour and half.

The season starts in January! I will be sending out a lot of information to you guys in the next few week as we aren't far from the 1st tournament. Pat and I are working on the schedule and should have it by tomorrow. That way you can plan your year. Chris is developing a lot of spreadsheets with various information you will want as the year progresses. These will be sent as we can perfect them! I will be sending out a list of all Members in good standing to each of you so that you may be able to contact each other. Also on this list is whether you are a boater or a non-boater. This can be used as a way of reaching out to each other to fish back seats; fish with different people. You'll be surprised how much you can learn doing this. Anyway. More stuff coming! Print it off and keep yourself a club record. Its fun to follow!

Again Chris and I wish you a very Merry Christmas. We pray that each of you are blessed in abundance!

God bless

Robert
