Lake Brownwood was rainy and cool. We figured out it is full of small fish and a few good size whites and some small green fish with large mouths. We even landed a blue cat trolling. The stay at the state park cabin was nice and I highly recommend it. The cabins are really nice. We fished the lit docks but people don't keep their lights on like back in the old days. The fish were located between McCarty Island and the state park in about 12 -15 foot of water. Then over on the ledge by the sunken island just off the ledge in 15 foot of water.

Don't miss a stop in at Wild Duck Marina. Be sure and grab a burger there. May be the best burger I have had in a log time.

Congrats on the weekend fishing. Those hybrids must have been washed in from upstream. TPWD site says the last hybrids stocked in Brownwood was 2002. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/action/stock_bywater.php?WB_code=0114

Yep apparently they changed their name from palmetto to sunshine bass sometime after 2009.
