I see a lot of garfish at choke canyon lake now that the water level is so low. Bass fishing is tough for me there!

The bass are there. What lures and what colors are you throwing to try and catch them?

They are there, went this past Thursday evening and my best 3 fish went 14lbs. Try staying around 12 foot and under. Haven't had much luck any deeper lately. Hope this helps.

With all this rain the lake has come up about 4-5 feet in the past week.

Have you seen this first hand? Looking at the water levels online it doesnt show that it has come up much at all, but I'm really 2nd guessing that data.

I was also told is came up 5' a few weeks ago, but much like yourself, when I looked it had barely moved. I hope it comes up with that last batch of rain; but seems like a lost cause these days.

It's gone up a foot since the weekend with a lot more water coming down. Probably see it go up around 3' more by end of the week assuming they don't get anymore rain.

square bills, deep diving cranks, jigs, soft plastics spinner baits in chartreuse, white, shad colors, sexy shad, splatter patterns and then some.

Our club fished it last Saturday and the water IS up. I don't know official level but looks good. Hydrilla is starting a good comeback in backs of coves. Reaction baits worked best for our club with spinnerbait being #1. A few fish were caught on topwater and a few areas had some schooling fish come up mid day. Good luck

My cousin has a place there and sent me a picture from Saturday and said lake was up 4-5 feet.

Choke now over 201'. Highest it's been in over 3 years. Probably still has another foot to go.

Hope it doesn't go right back down. Choke would be full a couple times over if they would quit opening the spill way to fill mathis and let water flow to coast.

Funny thing, I have a friend that owns property on Mathis lake and he was crying that Choke wasn't letting enough water out to keep their lake full. bang
