Thinking about trading my bass tracker in on one of these. Just wondering if anybody had any opinions on this particular skeeter good or bad. Planning on starting to fish a few tournaments with it as well. Coming from an aluminum is the hambys keel protector worth what it costs to put on? Also how stable is the platform and ride on these. Figure asking in this section would do more good since bass fishing is what it'll be used for. Also any opinions on the Yamaha 150 2 stroke would be appreciated.

Great boat, very dry ride and good on fairly ruff water for an 18.5 ft boat. Fishability is awesome, I can fish 2 people up front pretty easy. I love my 190 I run low 50's with my 150 vmax, guys are getting low 60's with the 175. I think the hambys are 600 installed. I could be wrong.

I love my 190....my only complaint...there isn't a lot of storage.....especially when there are 3 fishing.....if you're alone....awesome.....I asked the owner of the local Skeeter dealer if he'd recommend the 175.....he said the 150 performs just well, but less mileage....food for thought...

I had one 3 years ago and it was as good as a boat could get for the size and price...however that being said if you are fishing tournaments a lot it will tend to get small on big lakes with ruff water. I always recommend a 20 footer if possible but if like I was at the time budget it budget so get the best you can.

I love mine. Actually downgraded from a 21'. Storage can be lacking but it's ok. I have the 150 and it does great. Only thing I would tell you to change is trolling motor if it is a 70lb. Struggles to keep you on spot if you fish main lake with wind. Upgrade to the biggest 24 volt you can get. Other than that I think you will be very satisfied with it.

Great boat for sure! The keel guard is well worth the money and the platform is super stable if not the most stable in it's class. The ride is good in light to medium chop, but you can get beat up in 4 footers. But you can get beat up in any boat in 4 footers if the driver isn't good.

I have a 07 zx190 with a 175. It's a sweet boat. Lacks a little storage but otherwise great. I have seen 65 out of mine on GPS.

Just a suggestion but have you checked out the Phoenix 618 Pro? Lot's of storage and like the Skeeter will run about 55 mph with a 150SHO. I've owned Skeeters and they are excellent boats but it can't hurt to check out the Phoenix. I sound like a salesman but I'm just a Phoenix driver. Good luck with whatever boat you choose.

I really like the Phoenix boats but I haven't seen any used ones in my price range. I haven't seen many used to begin with.

Love mine. Meets all my needs as a fisherman. My only gripe is rod storage.

I came out of a Tracker. In comparison the ZX190 is huge. 8' rods will fit in the rod lockers.
Lots of storage. The front deck is large and two can easily fish from it.
It is a very stable fishing platform. My partner can move around the back deck and I barely notice it up front.
With a 150 on it do not expect it to be a speed demon. Look for mid to upper 50s with a load. I have a 175 and get 60/61 with a full load, a Talon, two people, on a hot summer day.
It is very maneuverable with more of a sports car type of ride. Even at WOT I can drive with two fingers and even let go of the wheel and it tracks straight. Being a shorter boat it takes a little more seat time to get a smooth ride in the rough stuff. After having mine for four years I can spare my partner from most bumps.

The Hambys is a must and it works very well. Mine takes a lot of abuse. Just be careful when beaching on long slopes, the keel is pretty far back and you could touch bottom past the Hambys.

Overall my boat has been trouble free. The 150/175 Yamaha HPDIs are very reliable and solid motors. Mine still starts with the flick of the key.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

What Rick says is true. They are so much more stable and make a much better fishing platform that most think. Mine is an 07 with a 150. I have considered reaching for a bigger boat, but quite frankly there's nothing wrong with mine. Rick's has a 175, and is newer than mine, but it has a giant garlic smelling red stain on the port side front deck. Tough to be downwind of that without craving Italian food.

They have quite a lot of rod storage in them too. Rick can get around 50 rods in his. Has to be 50 down in there.
