Not trying to get everyone to fish Lewisville but the big black Crappie are showing up in large numbers.

Three of us fished this afternoon and caught over 50 keepers. We only kept the ones over 12". Had 30 in the box when we quit at 6:30. !5 of them were over 14". One was 16.5". Now that's a big Crappie.

Only fished brushpiles in 15'-20' water. Most caught on Thump Buddy bodies on 1/16 oz jig heads. I used purple/green but color didn't seem to matter. Tried the cut bait but quit after catching 9 bluegills in 10 min.

Todd,
Most fish are being taken just off the bottom in 50' of water on shallow running bass crank baits...but don't tell anyone stir

Hey Todd,

Tips for fishing Lake Lewisville:

Sand Bass you follow the birds....

Crappie you follow the Pontoon bolt

I am calling you now Ernest, per your text msg. Been a busy morning.

What a difference a day makes. Today David (Shut-up-and-fish) and I caught close to 100 Crappie and only had about a dozen legal fish with only 4 over 12". Some were so small 4" that they had to be this years spawn.

Cut bait didn't produce much today either.

I did catch two Drum that got added to the freezer for future use.

Hope tomorrow is better. (I know, I'm spoiled)
