Hey mechanics,
1.What are the best reeds to put in a 94' Evinrude 200 Vindicator during rebuild?
2. Motor mounts? Seems somewhere I've read about aluminum solid billet mounts.
3. Rebuilding this motor for reliability & want to bulletproof(as much as possible) as it will probably be the last motor I have. Just want as much reliability as possible. High speed performance is not the issue for me as it once was. I just want the reliability long term usage with normal maintenance/tune ups, etc.

I like the: http://chriscarsonmarine.com/reed-valves.htm. The solid mounts make it too rough for most. New set of stock is what I would do. Pre-mix with Royal Purple 2 cycle oil, Sea Foam and mid grade fuel. Royal Purple is available at Amazon or Summit racing free ship on 100.00 up. If you don`t want oil that expensive , the next oil I would use is Pennzoil semi- synthetic.

Thanks Gary & fastguy. Gary, do you mean rough while on plane or rough on motor/Jackplate/transom? I value your opinion. Yes, I will be premixing fuel& oil.

Most likely Royal Purple. I buy seafoam by the case when it's on sale. Run it in my 02 F350 7.3L truck. Also in my little Toyota runaround car.keeps everything clean inside,a lot less carbon issues. Reliability is my #1 priority & oil price is not an issue. Will go with a new set of stock mounts. Yes Chris Carsons reeds are what I'm looking at because they are not stamp cut like carbon fiber reeds are. Thanks for the input.

Solid mounts transfer every bump or vibration from the motor to the boat. Kind of like replacing the shocks on your car with metal pipe just not as serious as water is more forgiving then cement....
