Just fished Granbury last night. There's tiny shad everywhere. I fished all afternoon and only caught one bass on a popper when I happened upon a school of them getting shad. What should I be doing different? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Fish a drop shot underneath the shad balls. Or even slow roll your favorite crank or spinner. The bigger fish are usually underneath the bait.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

When using the drop shot, what bait do you like for matching small shad?

I have tried small flukes and no luck.

One thing I have found that does seem to work.

A white rooster-tail... Yeah the little trout spinner. It slays them when they are on tiny shad and wont look twice at a regular sized spinner or crank.

Been catching 20 plus bass every outing at Granbury the last few weeks but due to the 16in min length only about 2-5 keep every time
