So i been upgrading my boat. You know that old saying B.O.A.T. Bring out another thousand. Well I have already changed motor electronics, Batteries, wiring and now the trolling motor. Currently i have a Lowrance hand control trolling motor. 80 lbs thrust. It has done me well over the years. But i want to upgrade. And i am thinking i would like to go all out. I am getting old and am starting to have issues doing things. So i thought i would look into the latest and greatest. I would like to be able to hook up to the graphs, Helix 10 and 12 and 1198 and 998. Might as well be Minn Kota. So the riptide is white and would look better on my boat, But they dont make a 36 volt In the salt water series. Not that i have found.

I also need to figure out how i am going to squeeze another battery into the rear of my Champion 202.

So what would you do. I want to be able to fish no matter what the weather is and would like for it to stay on a deep water location. What say the experts.

That same problem aggravates me as well. I cannot figure out why they can't have Link on a 36V Saltwater since they have it on a 24v. Seems simple to me especially since they have it on the freshwater one. I actually contacted Minn Kota and got a sharp simple response of " we just don't make that model". I have the 80 lb on my 22' Bay Boat and it moves it 2.2 MPH. The spot lock has no trouble holding the boat in 15-20 mph wind, in a 20' Minn Kota circle of course. I'm waiting on the new ones to come out in the winter with the improved spot lock and see if they offer the 36v then. I'm also going to study up on the internals and get with a trolling motor shop and see if we can customize one. It may not be possible, but worth a look.

Awesome news! What about the Riptide ST 112# With Link?

I assume that the Ulterra you mentioned will have the improved spot lock feature?
