Last week I did not fish @ all. It felt good stay in the air conditioning. It took one call to find a fishing partner for Monday. Sure was nice out there. We fished in very light rain for the 4 hours we were out there. The actual catching was off somewhat as we only landed 37 whites-hybrids. Each of us did land a legal hybrid. The fish were cruising on the humps in about 20 feet of water. The slab-jig combo was the ticket with the majority of the bites coming on the slab. I used an old slab that had been in the tackle box for several years. The chartreuse paint was all chipped up and it had rust stains all over it. The fish did not mind it's appearance and struck it readily. There were very few fishermen out & we more or less had the lake to ourselves. May try again this week.

Wanted to make it out there Monday evening Don, but didn't work out. I teach, so was hoping to get one more run out there before school starts next Monday. Not looking like it's going to happen. Oh well, I guess I'll take the cooler temps even if I'm not on the water.

Well...checked the new unit out and headed for some 20 ft humps. Tried the saddle area for a bit with no luck then went further east. Found a few in a bit deeper water..25-28 ft. Cruising was an understatement. Screen could be completely blank one second, and look like a Christmas tree the next. Seemed to catch fish on almost every pass. Ended up with a dozen or so including this baby hybrid. Only fished for an hour.
