I know there's several US dealers you can buy on line but I was wondering if anybody knew of a shop I can walk in and actually lay hands on products anywhere in the US.

Academy, Bass Pro, Walmart all have hooks, weights and swivels. Are you looking for something more particular?

I don't think any in your area. Big carp tackle in Oklahoma is so close to you they can have it to your door in about 48 hours.Maybe some of the online shops have a storefront but I'm not sure.

Agreed, carp specific items are not in local stores except for some of the cheap low end stuff.

More carp specific, boiles, baits, and the like. To be honest...the best tool is....google. Search for "carp bait" and check out the photos, videos, etc. After you narrow down your top 3 favorite items of interest, start searching on those specific items when you're ready to purchase and choose an online retailer. I've been using BigCarpTackle and I've had nothing but stellar service from them. But c'mon.....the most fun you'll get from Carp fishing regarding bait...is making your own. I pressure cook my field corn (maize) and add flavoring and I have enough bait for a few days fishing in around 2-3 hours. I also like using grocery baits like cereal, muffins, making my own dough bait, nuts, gummy bears, bread, sweet corn, hot dogs, etc. Now...when I do a serious outing on a large lake, reservoir, etc, I chum with the field corn and use pop up boilies for the hook bait. But in smaller lakes, community ponds, etc, I use light line and store bought baits. Soo much fun.

It is really difficult to beat sweet corn, maize, or just plain bread!
Lately I've been using more of the artificial / plastic corn as a hookbait and some kind of packbait or method mix. Works great! The pack/method pulls them in and the bright plastic intrigues them enough to suck it in!
