I have 2 questions regarding my Lowrance HDS7's...

1) Should i unplug the power cable from the unit when charging the batteries on a 3 bank charger

2) I have 2 batteries wired together to power a 24V trolling motor. I want to power the front Lowrance unit off of one of those batteries. Do I only hook up to a single battery's terminals, or sense the the two batteries are wired together do I need to split between the 2 batteries like i did for the trolling motor?

I leave mine unplugged cause the power around my area goes out and comes back on real quick and I don't won't to risk a power surge on my expensive computers. I would not recommend wiring graphs to trolling motor batteries as they would greatly increase the possibility of interference (RFI).

Don't use the trolling motor battery for sonar units. BTW If you were to wire it like the tmotor you would fry your sonar as that is 24volts.

Sounds good. I'll wire it to the crank battery instead. Now out of curiosity, if you have 2 batteries wired like this, and you attached a unit that requires 12V to the feeds on the bottom battery only, will you be getting 12V or 24V?

You would get 12 hooked directly to either battery. A circuit is between the two connections. No different that connecting a multi-bank charger to batteries in series.

That's what I thought since that's how my multi-bank is hooked up like you mentioned. Appreciate the help everyone

How long could you expect a depth finder to run if connected to a single battery as shown in the illustration?

You wouldn't want it connected like that as you'll get interference from the trolling motor. In the illustration, you are getting 24v but the same capacity so it would depend on how much the trolling motor was used. In overly simplified terms, think of just having a 12v trolling motor running off of one battery and then adding a FF to it would sort of answer your question. In reality the 24v trolling motor would be more efficient but you can see what I am saying.

If the batteries were connected in parallel, you'd be getting 12v but would double their capacity or amp hours. My cranking battery can't handle running lights at night for several hours and still have enough power to crank the motor. I plan on adding another battery in parallel to it or just put all of my lights and electronics on the extra battery as a stand alone.

It seems strange to me that high end electronics provide no DC input filtering for sharing TM battery pack. You could add a inductor filter at input to each device maybe. We had to do that in the sixty's to keep noise out of our new car tape decks.

Sonars actually provide intensive RFI filtering on their power inputs. But compared with amplifying a minute echo from a small object dozens of feet below the boat compared with spikes from a trolling motor, electrical isolation in the wiring is usually needed.

If you still are going to use a trolling motor battery for sonar power, only use the most negative battery as using the battery connected to the TM positive would with the water being a conductor would introduce a path for damaging electrolysis between the trolling motor skeg and the boat motor lower unit.
