The Ray Hubbard Bass Cub will be having our seventh tournament of the year Saturday August 13th on Lake Bob Sandlin. Here is the information - When: Saturday August 13th Where: Lake Bob Sandlin - Titus County Public Ramp (Closest to the dam - A on the TPWD map) Time: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Registration: 4:30 AM - 5:15 AM Entry Fee: $60.00 per boat 2 person maximumYou MUST be an RHBC member to fish this tournament. We do not accept membership at the launch ramp, so if you want to fish this one, you will have needed to join the Club at our meeting this Thursday night at BPS Garland. Here is a link to the meeting information. Meetung Link Registration will be at the ramp starting at 4:30 on Saturday morning. When you register you will be given a numbered chip. You will need to to turn your chip in by placing it on the board get your fish weighed. You can then launch or trailer and go to your spot. No lines in the water until 5:30. Last cast is 2:00. There will be a 30 minute dead water period where no fishing is allowed at the end of the day. This is to give members time to get off the water, and the TD's time to get the weigh in set up. The chip must be back on the board with the Tournament Director by 2:30 and weigh in will start then. You will be called to the scales by boat number. Leave your fish in the live well until your number is called! Keep the water cool and treated! See you at the ramp!

FYI. Our TD has ruled that ALL bridges are designated as no wake zones. Running a bridge on plane can get you a DQ guys. It does not matter if the bridge has a no wake sign on it or not. The Tournament Director has spoken! See you tomorrow!

Congratulations to Cameron Laing and Patrick Sharp who won going away today weighing in 19.79 pounds and winning by almost 6 pounds. They also had big bass of 6.38. Another great turnout of 39 boats! Thanks to everyone for coming out. I will have full results and pictures posted later this week.

We ended up in the right place at the right time yesterday afternoon. It took us nearly all morning to find some big fish, but once we found them we had the most exciting couple of hours we've ever had.
I've never seen so many big fish stacked on one point before. We were catching fish on nearly every cast for a while. In the last hour, we caught 15 fish that were 3lbs or better. We had 4 doubles. (two fish at once)
Brian and James (Patrick's dad) saw us fishing this point so they came by to see how we were doing. As they're idling towards us I said to Patrick, "wouldn't it be funny if we caught like an 8lber right now." A few seconds later, I got a hit and my rod doubled over. When that huge head came up and broke the surface we just couldn't believe it. She weighed around 6.5lbs and ended up being Big Bass of the tournament.
What a day! I think we've probably used up all our luck for the year.
