Went out this morning, fished from 7 AM to 11 AM. Caught 12 Bass and about 30 Sand Bass. All fish on topwater and crankbait. Bass were very shallow until about 9:30 then after that in about 8' depth. All on main lake points. Not many people on the lake today. Only one other trailer at the ramp.

Out again this morning. Fished from 7 AM to 11 AM again. Caught 12 bass, mostly small on crank baits and fluke. Largest about 3 1/2 lbs. Surprisingly the bass are all coming in less than six feet of water. This year is shaping up to be an unusual year.
I have been catching freshwater drum everytime I go out lately. Most in the five pound category. They have been hitting my crank baits. I have caught drum before, but it seems that I am catching one to three everytime I go out. Today there were two; 3 lbs. and 5 lbs. respectively.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Seems like there are a lot more out there these days. Wonder if they are feeding on the zebra mussels?

I catch big drum almost every time out now. I catch a lot on a spinning rod and a shaky head and wow they fight hard!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

They will break your arm. I didn't consider the zebra mussel as a food source for drum. Maybe there is a bright side.

Basshead21 caught one drum on our trip, seems like there are a lot of them.
We boated one largemouth in the 3-4 lb range and a lot of smaller schooling fish

This thread title reminds me of a bar in New Orleans that has a sign in it that says "Free Beer Tomorrow". I went out this morning and the weather change didn't seem to affect the bite. I caught lots of smaller bass in the willows on a T-rigged Baby Brush Hog and a Wacky rigged Yum Dinger. Both in watermelon/red flake.
