very nice work. one thing to watch is the size of the eyes.you really want them to fill the eye socket and use the 3d eyes. here's a few from the archives that might inspire you or drive you completely out of lure painting all together.

6mm for 1.5 baits is all I use, looks like the ones you used are 4.5mm you can get away with 5-5.5mm. That's the only thing negative about the bait though with proper eye size it would be an flat out awesome.

Interesting pattern ...very creative...thinking its a springtime lure. Just a few observations...the feather tail treble will slow the lures action down slightly...good or bad who can say?? The eyes seem to be the stick on style used on Torpedo's and spinnerbaits. Blacking out the eye socket and accenting around the eye area enhances their look. As a rule of thumb the eye should fill out the flat area of the eye socket leaving the raised back edge of the socket showing. Sometimes I use oversized eyes, particularly on small baits. Usually have to add a drop of superglue to keep them in place...once the D2T gets on them they tend to slide a bit. Good job RS thanks for posting your work here thumb
