Howdy folks,

making my first trip to Palestine at the end of the month. Renting a house at the location marked here:

Two questions:
1. Where can I run safely without hitting trees?
2. Where do I fish? Should I hit the roadbeds in 15-25fow or should I fish shallow? Boat docks? Given my location on the southern end of the lake I figure I'll fish the dam a bit. Is there grass? Feel free to PM with info.

Heading out tomorrow. If anyone wants to share any tips on tactics, location, or safety please PM me. I am NOT a tournament angler. Thanks!

Hit the deeper boat docks and bridges! Not alot caught in the last few weeks! Better fish caught in around 8-15 fow! Just gotta grind at it! Good luck!

Just go fishing. The south end fishes well all year.

It was unfathomably difficult. Probably caught ten all weekend and all under two pounds. Fished docks, stump fields, points. Threw the kitchen sink at em. Even fished late one night. The only time I really hooked up was on random schoolies chasing shad. Beautiful lake though, look forward to going back.

As with most lakes 80 percent of the fish are in 20 percent of the water. Boat docks are always a great way to fish for bass on Palestine. I hear flat creek is fishing really good right now and kickapoo always hold good fish year around. On the south end of the lake there's a lot of offshore structure on the main lake that holds fish that I hardly ever see guys fishing. South end of the lake is loaded with timber also with most being just under the surface.

I'm thinking about heading to Palestine for a long weekend in October and I'm trying to find a place to stay. Was the place you rented available all year? Would you recommend it? I would be grateful if you PM'd me more info.
