Anyone towing their boat with a newer Colorado? If so, how's it working for you?

I do not see many of the new ones on the road. I thought they were selling fairly well before and after they suspended sales for some type of recall. They have a 700 lb higher tow rating than Tacomas and my Tacoma tows my Ranger 375v just fine.

I would think it'd do just fine. Even my 4 banger tacoma pulled a small bass boat OK.

Should be fine. What motor do you have?

I see a bunch of them on the roads.

I bought my new truck before the diesel version came out so I didn't drive one. The TFL guys, lots of videos on youtube etc. ran one up the ike gauntlet with like 5-6k lbs, if it can complete that dragging a bas boat around in texas should be no biggie.

I was automatically thinking about the diesel one, but it or the 6 cylinder should do fine. I wouldn't want to drag anything with the gas 4 cylinder.

I have a 2016 GMC Canyon ...4 wheel drive ...I pull a Bass Cat Puma...has been great no problems pulling handles going down the road just fine....I have the 6 cylinder 300 hp engine...more than enough to pull it as fast as you want...and the 4 wheel drive has been handy on several ramps. Only issue I had was getting the trailer hitch ball the right height (invested in several hitch balls with differnt rise) Averages about 15 to 16 miles per gallon with boat in tow. The ride is very comfortable so far no complaints...

What kind of gas mileage do you get when you're not towing? That's great mpg with a boat in tow.

It depends on the driving whether in town or out on the road...on the road I have gotten 20 to 22 and sometimes a little higher. in town 18+..the on board computer can give you a running average or you can set it to provide best 25, 50 or 450 miles..highest I have gotten for 450 miles has been 22mpg...best for 25 miles has been 27 ...still fairly new so I expect the mileage to improve a little...I have about 4000 miles on the truck. If you dont need a full size truck, which, I don't, this truck has been just what I needed easy to get in and around town and parking, has enough room to seat 4 adults comfortable...and has a truck bed for hauling needs..The ride is much like a bigger truck not quite as smooth as a car but not really stiff like the small trucks I remember from the past. So far very pleased

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have my eye on the 6 cylinder and the diesel model.

I had a loaded out Canyon 2wd as a loaner for a week while my wife's Tahoe was in the shop and it pulled my Z119C Ranger great. had no trouble at all and was getting 15-17mpg towing and about 28mpg when not towing. I liked the truck too, was outfitted really nice.
