Went down to Galveston for the week. I fished even day caught a lot of trash fish like hard heads, sand trout, and whitening. Took a 4 hour guide tour, more trash fish. Went flounder gigging one night no flounder, but we gigged a mess of crabs. Decided to do my thing and found some good fish. caught this guy in my 4'6" dock shooter! caught this guy on my 8' fly rod six pound line.and this guy on a 6'6" rod fresh out of Wal Mart. Man it was a fun trip

Nicely done!

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

That does look like fun. I'm not convinced those are coast crappies. I recall coast crappie looking more like great big red pan fish (snapper).

Not sure I would call whiting trash fish, get em big enough and you've got an excellent table fare species. Love me some whiting! Fished a condo development in Port Isabel one time, and where they were putting the boat ramp and docks for the condos, the current passed just out from it. Got some shrimp, and went to catching some dandy whiting, lots of em. A Local told me they were great eating, so i took em to a friend's mom's house in Harlingen, cleaned em, and we had a royal feast!
