I fished eagle mountain Monday and Tuesday. We put in right at 6 and were at home napping by 11 lol. Monday we caught 13 and Tuesday we caught 8. The biggest was 4 and a quarter. A few solid 2s and some dinks. But hey, I like dinks more than nothing! Lol. Pop r at first light and finesse shakey heads on rock pilings once the sun was up. It's tough. But doable.

Didn't you hear? All the fish in Athens died. The ones that are left are super skinny

The crappie bite just fine in the heat! I bass fish hard until the bite dies off then go catch the main ingredient in the best fish tacos! Makes for a fun outing anyway.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

If you can, jump in the lake to cool down; it's what I do. The offshore bite on many lakes has been great, but if there is no wind the heat can be miserable. That's why I've been jumping in the lake every couple of hours.

I haven't made a daytime fishing trip since the first of June. I'm glad my bass club fishes at night in June, July, and August.

I had an old Lake Fork Tackle fishing towel that I folded in half, sewed the ends together and put Velcro on the edges, put a zipper on the long end and sewed it on. My mom at the time did all of the sewing for me. You unzip it and pack it full of crushed ice and zip it back up and put it around your neck. Velcro it together and being next to your neck and having the ice slowly melt I promise it will feel 20 degrees cooler. It has always been called a Cool Collar. Got the idea from a product that used to be sold at Landscape Nursery at one time.

I'm fishing a tournament on Saturday and I've never been so excited about the possibility of thunderstorms. Sure beats 102 degrees!

Its been so hot in the afternoons it's just miserable. I've had to keep my life vest laying across the seat so I don't burn my legs when I sit down. I forget to put the pliers away sometimes and then I burn my hands when I pick them up. I'm ready for fall!

I have stayed out fishing mornings and evenings and have not had any issues landing fish every trip. By no means is fishing great but has not been that hard mainly shallow power fishing for me.

My neighbor and I have been hitting Marine Creek at night to beat the heat. Fished last Saturday from 10pm till 2am and managed 7 each. Too damn hot during the day to go, rather not have to deal with sun burns and heat exhaustion.

It doesn't help that I'm new to the area and haven't figured any north texas lakes out yet. Wish it wasn't so far back to my home lakes of Fork, Pines, and Gilmer. At least then I know the good spots, and the lay of the lakes.

I don't know what's hotter the weather or fishing.

I cancelled a Falcon trip this weekend. Forecast was calling 106 everyday this week, 107 today, 108 tomorrow, and 106 on Sat and Sun. I figured that would make the deck temperature around 115 to 120 deg. TOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Relief is on its way in a couple of days.
