I have a Sea Star 2.0 Sport Tilt HH5290 on my boat. I have about an 1 1/2" play in the steering, at the outside of the steering wheel (which would be pretty small at the shaft). Is this normal? How do you tighten it up? I've looked everywhere on the helm and at the cylinder at the motor and can't see any visible leaks.

It's low on fluid from a leak. The system doesn't hold much to begin with so a very small leak will make a big difference. Most of the time it's the cylinder on the motor. Rub your hand under the end caps to see if there is any oil residue. Most of the time oil won't collect in the splash back because water washes it out coming off plane.
