I must have rats or mice in my boat, have seen sunflower seeds chewed up, cull tags, and now a seat cushion,... I haven't seen any wiring or plastic or anything. .. I have put rat poison out yesterday all gone this morning. .. any other suggestions?

I would be careful with the poison. They eat it, then look and do anything to get to water. I'm a plumber and have seen first hand a rat chewing threw copper water lines. I would set some traps and check daily. Obviously remove anything that would bring mice in.

No rodenticide makes them look for water.

Not sure if it really works or the mice cannot climb in my boat. But, I put a box of moth balls under the console. I also have rat & mouse bait in the garage. I find the mice in the open areas or underneath the
storage racks.

Make sure you are not leaving any trash or food behind. Any left over from food, snacks, etc in your boat or garage. Chip bags, cracker wrappers, etc. they will find it every time. The best bait/poison I have used it Tomcat. They are little green blocks. You can get it at WalMart, Home Depot, etc. Anything that nibbles on it will be dead the next day. Just go back to make sure they don't die in your boat.

I had the same problem several years ago, although they never got in my boat. My house backs up to the woods and mice/rats would get in my garage then they would crawl through my breezeway and get into my attic. I put poison in my garage and attic. They were supposed to go looking for water but they kept dying in my attic. It was a nightmare always going up there to try & find the dead mice. They would get under insulation and die which made it hard to find them. I literally had to smell for them. I finally got a couple of P3 Attack Wave Pest Repellents for my attic and a couple for my garage. I haven't seen a mouse or rat in years. It was funny because a day or two after I put them out, my next door neighbor had a rat trap cage laying on the grass between our driveways with 2 mice in it. These are supposed to be better than other units because the ultra high frequency constantly changes and they don't get used to the sound. You won't hear any sound but the mice/rats can. You can find them for about $25. Here is a link to a site. Good Luck

I have too many cats in and around my yard and garage to have any mice.

I keep my boat covered under a lean-to built on the side a a barn. I had mice in the boat but luckily they didn't do any damage other than eating a couple of bites off a couple of rod handles. I put a couple of those electronic sonic things in the boat and a couple of rubber snakes on the stern where the cover is open a bit. I have used dryer sheets and now I am using peppermint oil on some cotton balls. Put them all around the boat and in all the compartments. Clean fresh smell that mice don't really care for. Works for me. Now as far as rats...I have no idea.

Peanut butter in rat and mouse traps on the floor near tires, and strategically throughout the boat. Vacuum all compartments thoroughly.
