I was wondering how long you should store braided line on the original spool? Should I stick with 300 yards or jump up to 1500 yards and have it around for a couple of years?

I was born and raised in Commiefornia the same state that gave the world Ronald Reagan. I trust my dog more than most people. I love the Denver Broncos.

I would think if you kept the spool in a Ziploc bag it would last many years.

I have spools of braid that I have kept in the house for 4 years with no loss of quality. I keep a roll or two on the boat for up to two years and haven't noticed any loss of quality. On my reels, I switch it out every year at start of season.

I fish fresh water but I have 3 reels that have had the same braid all three years. Now I fish probably 60-70 days a year so that is pretty good lifespan in my opinion. I use power pro.

Dang near forever I think. I recently hauled out my old reels. Twenty year old braid is still just fine. I ain't changing it either.
