Who's planning on riding this year? I've been talked into it. Haven't decided if I'm riding the century or the 100K yet though, I reserved a hotel room yesterday and have to stay in Lawton ok. Closest available Mariott bang

I just stared riding 2 months ago. My longest ride so far is 25 miles. Maybe next year!

We should make a TFF team.

Yeah the hotel situation here is real weird, I think they're booked for this weekend about a year in advance. There's atleast two big ones that have been closed for like two years, but there's also atleast like an additional 14,000 or so people coming to town that weekend. If we had the room Id offer up a room, but with a 7 month old and a two year old, you might be better off staying somewhere else. Lol.

When I registered on-line I said the 50 miler, but I think we might end up doing 75, and I've kind of been throwing around the idea, depending how I feel and what time it is at the turn off to head back to town or do the century, I may keep going. This is also going to be my first time doing it.

I know it's hot, and I don't know where they shower, but there will be a bunch of people in tents there around the MPEC center. Did you consider that? There also won't be any place to park in probably a 5 or so block radius of the start Saturday morning, it's like 4 miles from my house and we're just going to ride there. If you get there early enough the 1st Baptist Church on Bluff has several big parking lots, might be worth a shot. Or maybe the vacant hotel on Broad and 5th. Also, a bunch of the streets are one way downtown so watch out for that.

Also, not so much right after the race around the MPEC, but if you're around town with the bike on a rack, keep a cable lock on that thing, and take it into your room at night. Not saying it'll happen, but it'd sure suck.

Just thought about this, I don't know if you tried, but there's two hotels in Nocona, one just opened like a a few months ago. Nocona is about 40 miles east of WF. And there's no tolls...

Lawton is about 75 miles closer to WF than FTW. Thanks for the info and offer Brian, I'm going to sign up for the 100K as I've never done any type of group ride and haven't ridden more than 50 at 1 time so I'll add another 12 to it and plan/prepare to ride the century next year.

Well it's right around the corner, hope you're ready! It's looking like I'm going for the century, In my head I'm thinking if I get out on my own, I'm shooting for about a 16mph avg including stops, but we'll see. Getting in a group will certainly change that.

I really didn't ride much last week, probably just going to toodle around the neighborhood some this week, maybe get a run or two in, other plans include keeping up the water intake, and to start taking in some carbs. I'm knocking on wood for what weatherunderground is predicting, you almost couldn't ask for better conditions, but I suspect it'll change... I'm pretty good with just about anything, as long as the wind stays where it's at.

I didn't get any rides in at all last week. Probably won't ride too much this week either, just enough to stay loose and keep my butt in shape!! I'm still doing the 100K, shooting for the full monte next year though.

Man, went down to the MPEC after work and picked up my packet, shirt and all that. Bunch of folks down there and it's only going to get crazier. The trade show is pretty legit, you could show up with absolutely nothing, and leave completely set, even with a bike rack to take it home on. Picked up a new jersery, wish I would've thought about it and waited to get a helmet, this is where they're all at!! The jersey is pretty sweet it's a Hotter'n Hell jersey for this year which also happens to be the 35th anniversary.

Pretty sure I was the only one I jeans and cowboy boots, looked like a bunch of skinny racer types lol.

I didn't see any 105 stuff, mostly complete bikes, and some super crazy high end stuff I had no idea what it was so I kept walking. Every kind of energy bar, gel, drink. Pretty impressive, I forget all the bike shops there, but there were quite a few.

Sweet! I like the jersey! Looks better than the old ones.

I'd be about like you, walking around not knowing WTH I was looking at! LOL!

Good luck ya'll! We got several Longview folks up there...they are so pumped up!

Man what a ride!!! First time I've done anything like it and I had a blast!!! I ride the 100k, 62.5 miles just under 4 hours. I bought a New Jersey too, but went with the "don't tread on me" jersey. I'm looking forward to riding the century ride next year!
