Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop that repairs trolling motors. My cable hasn't snapped but came off the two pulley wheels and one part of the cable is frayed bad. Don't think it's fixable/I think it has to be replaced. Thanks!

You can do it yourself. I just did mine. www.jonestrollingmotor.comGive him a call. He will need the number off your foot pedal. MXC300542 Rev 2 There are different cables based on the foot pedal. If you want to pay someone, All Star Archery and Marine in Lewisville is an option. Cables are about $65 from Jones. I'm guessing a shop would charge around $250 to do it.

Oh... Replace both cables and not just the broken one. If you don't do both, you'll be doing it again soon.

I had a pulley come off on the water recently. I had to pay to have it done as I couldn't find a video anywhere online about how to do this. I hope someone posts a YouTube video walking thru this as it seems very common. I'm told their are two different foot pedals and the later model has a steel pulley upgrade available. With my pedal I'm told if I want to upgrade I have to change to the newer foot pedal and then install the steel pulley kit

Thanks everyone. Will give him a call Monday He'll make sure you have everything you need and that it's right. I had to go back and look at my receipt. The cables were actually $20.95/each or $41.90 a set. I ordered a back-up set to have on hand. If you have questions, he'll answer them and give helpful info.

I did my own repair of the cables on my tour edition. Concur that you should replace both cables when doing the repair. Having the number from the foot control is critical in getting the correct replacement cables. The repair took less than an hour to complete. I used the information at this link to guide me through the repair. http://www.jodywhitefishing.com/2011/03/trolling-motor-cable-replacement.html Boris Marine Electronics in Azle has taken care of me very reasonably on more complicated repairs and would also be a source for the cables.
