I have to get a pair of channel locks and rags to twist the pole and get someone to pull up on the seats to get them out. As soon as I put them back, the same thing getting them out. They are the original posts and I even purchased a new one to see if that would help. I was thinking of cutting the plastic insert out of the base but I think it would wobble then. Any suggestions on how to fix this. The posts are the kind that are not reduced on the insert and have the little lock down on the bottom. The lockdown isnt the problem, I can push the button and release it, just cant get the post pulled up and out and have to use channel locks to even turn the pedestal. It is on both the front and rear seats too.

I had that kind in my old Champion. The only way I could solve it was have them taken out and new bases glassed in. Those poly holders seem to change over time. Even cleaning them up and using silicone spray only helps for a little while.

I'd get a round file and see if I could file enough away to make them work better, if that didn't work, I'd knock them out and see how they are. If you have a rattle then replace. I had similar problem but mine were built on the pedestal and once you put it in the hole, it was a fight to get it out. I finally knocked it off and the problem was solved and the hole was tight enough that I didn't have any rattling problems.

Id try polishing before filing. A dowel that is a loose fit wrapped with 220 grit. Go easy.
Cast I have a short attention spa

I keep these on my boat as my pedestals also can be stubborn to get out.

To have a look at the other side of the issue from personal experience....it's better that they're a little too tight then to have to pick your brand new pedestal seat out of the middle of the highway.
To whom much is given, much is required.

I used a cylinder hone on a drill motor and polished the inside of the receivers evenly. Worked like a champ! Just don't take off too much material or the pedestals will wobble.

My seats would stick when the boat was new. I think the pole expands in the heat. I put a wire brush on a drill and gently removed a small amount of material from the inside of the plastic bushing. As noted above, take it slow and just take a little at a time.
