Have a 2009 GMC Crew cab 5.3 motor. Who has one on this truck? Would there be any improvement in HP or milage if I installed an cold air intake system? Thanks in advance.

I installed a cold air intake on my 2002 F150 with the 5.4 V8 and I got a noticeable mileage difference. Just be sure to clean the filter often. Plus it looks cleaner under the hood

I installed one on a 7.3 power stroke and got no improvement in mileage. Maybe a little better acceleration, and LOTS of noise.

Don't do it, leave it alone. You wont get anything power or mileage out of it even remotely close to your cost. Find a K&N sticker somewhere and just put it on the window and leave it stock and you will be better off

With the newer trucks people just get them because they like the sound. Some with very good butt dynos will tell you they got more power.

Forced air induction (turbo or supercharger) can see a little improvement if you have a bunch of power. If stock it won't show much if anything. I took the filter off during a dyno (200rwhp) on my stock Dodge Cummins and got zero improvement. Those with 400 hp said that they could see a slight improvement. On a sucker it might give a little more but mostly on a full throttle run. I doubt you'd see much under normal conditions.
