I wanted to follow-up from my Lake Fork report last week. On 7-31-16, the better bite I found was locating schools of bass, suspended around 15-20 ft., in 25-30 ft. of water. Then casting a weightless M-Pack Shad (Disco Violet color) on an Owner 6/0 Wide Gap Plus hook, 15-20# fluorocarbon past the school and employing the countdown & twitch method I described last week. Tip: Let the bass load the rod, before crossing their eyes with an upward hook set. Otherwise, you'll miss some fish. Be patient, give this pattern a try on these hot Dog Days of Summer and I think you'll be rewarded. Good luck, be safe & stay well hydrated out there. Here are some pics of Chris H. that fished with me 7-31-16 and some of his better fish he landed.
