I have a Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 2 on my boat. Are the Doctor Sonar DVDs worth watching to help me get these things tuned properly?
I've watched a ton of youtube videos, but I can't find one that I would say is fantastic.
If you know a good source for some online educational videos that do a good job diving deep into the electronics Lowrance tuning, please let me know. Preferably, I would like to watch online and not worry with DVDs.

I was not impressed with the Dr. Sonar videos, save your money and go see Slade at Fork, he'll get you set up and you'll learn more in a couple hours than you will ever get from the videos.

The videos by Dr. Sonar were good, but not great. Very informative but they take a long time.

The videos by Dr. Sonar were good, but not great. Very informative but they take a long time. And they don't help you set your unit up how you'd like. It's more.... Here's how sonar works and why you see what you see. Like others have said.... Good, not great.

Sounds like a good opportunity for someone to get some online content that walks through setup from start to finish on the different electronics out there. If that was available for HDS, I would pay to watch. I may break down and book Slade, but I've read that he's booked pretty far out and I'm not the best at long term planning. This questions gets asked so much on the forum that I think there is plenty of interest.

If you going to get a DVD I would suggest Breaking Bass. Ben Parker made this DVD and I have found it very helpful. It will help you with the set up and Ben will explain why he prefers certain settings.

I watched the teaser for Breaking Bass. Looks like I'm going to order it. Thanks for the tip.
