My wife and I spent a week on South Padre back in June. The plan was to fish a lot and eat our weight in shrimp baskets. Mission accomplished on both counts. Saw a lot of fish and I probably should have caught a lot more than I did but its really hard to pole the boat, sight cast to fish and get it all on video. Saw a lot of neat stuff also - even managed to get some of it on video. All in all it was a great trip. My wife fly fishes some but she's not quite ready for flats casting ( she's more into bluegills and sand bass) but she does love to fish the ship channels with spinning tackle. she caught her personal best Redfish this trip, a nice four and a half pounder - I weighed it. On the mornings she decides to hit the beach I go hit the flats alone. After a long morning we would meet back up at a local bar for a cold drink and some more shrimp. This video is from a couple of days I spent around Three Islands. I was hoping to have it finished long before now but I'm still learning this editing stuff.

Capt. Mac - Great video! I can feel and smell the salt air just watching. smile
We have a trip planned to Pensacola Beach in September; needless to say, Knuckles and I are counting days.

Wow. Nice video. I just got back from SPI myself and managed to land a few on the 8-weight. Thanks for sharing.

FishyB - I'm envious. I love fishing Florida. I just started working on a Tarpon fishing video from Key West from last Christmas. Keep me posted on that trip.

Treebasscatcher - it's funny how much time and effort goes into an eight second clip.

Doublehaul - cool. Where did you fish?

Robert - I'm in!

I gotcha down Fishy. I need to get you and Knuckles out on the carp flats one of these days.

RonL -Thank you! In the video I was using a seven weight TFO Signiture Series with a Pflueger Trion reel and a nine foot, ten pound test leader I built.

Kewl video. It's not all about fishing, the video shows it's also about enjoying watching the other wildlife in the area and just enjoying the beauty of the fishing spot.

Awesome Video!! Tell me about your boat. I've recently started dreaming about turning an old Jon Boat into a flats fishing machine. Seems like the most economical way to go.

I recently had my first experience with a fly rod in saltwater. I had a guide and someone to film so the video was a lot less work than yours.Port' O'Conner Trip

What editing software are you using?

Thank you Banker and MG

FWBanger - you get me smile

Texjbq - it's a fourteen foot Monarc with a twenty five horse. I built plywood floors and decks that I water sealed and painted, then carpeted over. I built a center console out of OSB plywood and painted. I made the poling platform and casting stool out of conduit from Home Depot. It has a bilge pump, navigation lights, courtesy lights that I wired into a face plate I made on the center console. If you need more info send me a PM. Include your phone number and I would be happy to talk to discuss boat conversions with you if you like. I haven't had a chance to watch your video yet ( my wife has me do honey do's ) but I'm going to watch it shortly. Oh, and I'm using Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum Edition software.

Saw it up close and personal today. That's a smart ride. Liked the video too. Nothing like salt - NOTHING.
