Here's a video of them:

This lake has been really interesting to fish. Do y'all have any suggestions for other baits suited to the thick hydrilla throughout this water?

I've got a new lunkerhunt frog I've been dying to use. Once I get the boat patched up, I'm gonna take it in some of the more protected corners and see what we can get!

Also, is it common for hydrilla to completely take over like it has here?

A depth finder on that boat is a must to fish the deep grass properly. If the grass is 12 ft. tall then they will stacked up under the hollow. A heavy drop shot, 1 oz. rigger only 5 inches with a Hoo Daddy Jr. in Watermelon/Neon will do the trick. Just go along the outer edge pitching it in and fish vertical over the fish. As it goes down through the grass slow it down. You will learn where the bottom is. Try stopping it just short of touching down. Hold it very still, they hate things sneaking in on them.

On the matted up grass throw a frog or flip a big weight into it, preferably from the boat so you can hit the edge and a few feet in. On that grass that has some water over it there are a ton of options. Fluke, swimbait, weightless worm, any top water, and flipping, always flipping.

I'm hoping that my next purchase is a depth finder. I'm looking at the garmin striker 4.
