I opened my box of senkos tonight to find them seemingly sopping wet. I guess the humidity is where it is coming from. Are the baits still good? Might be time to start leaving them in bags I guess.

In the Texas heat, I've seen plastics melt--some brands are more susceptible than others.
My guess is that the softener that they add to the baits liquifies and leeches out of the plastic.
Keeping them in the original bags and not mixing different brands of plastics helps a lot with this issue.

I have baits in the 3600 containers that have been in my hot shop for 25 years. None have ever had a problem like water leaching from from the baits. It is my guess that the water got in there from a rain.

I had two boxes stacked and setting on the work bench in the shop. There was a small leak in the metal roof. When it rained it dripped on top of the boxes. Now you tell me with the way the lid closes and hangs over the edge on each box how that water got inside. If they had been laying upside down I could see it. One was a crank bait box and it had water inside of it also. It must be something about the draw pressure inside the box sucking that moisture into the box and each small compartment with the temperature change. One of the boxes just had water in two of the compartments on one end. The one sitting on top had water in each of them.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Condensation. The box is a dry environment, as water around it evaporates (or in highly humid environments) the water vapor enters the case. Through the process of heating up and cooling down it condenses.

Lay the baits out on newspaper in the sun for a few hours. They will all come back to their original color. It is not the humidity causing this. They got rained on or water splashed on them somehow.

x2

My boxes get wet on occasion and I would just open them up and set them under the ceiling fan in the living room for a few hours and they will dry out.

I rarely have problems with plastics melting. If they do its because it's been out in the sun in this Texas heat. I find it's best just to leave them in the package and put them in Ziploc bags.

Left them open inside with the AC on, they seem to have dried out back to feeling normal. Hope the salt content isn't affected.
