Good afternoon yall,

I was going through my pots/pans last night and been noticing they're building up streaks of this white film.
These are non-stick pots/pans that I bought in 2009. I bought the set only because it looked nice and was pretty cheap.

Anything I can do to revive it?

I have issues with white streaks in mine when I run them through the dishwasher. Never had an issue with them from hand washing.

My only issue is that the non-stick wears off and all of a sudden now EVERYTHING sticks. At that point I just throw them away and buy a new pan.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm finding too.
Even high quality dishwasher rinse aids don't do much.

I have gently scrubbed them with an SOS pad with no problem as to their use. As long as the teflon is intact, they will still do the job.

Throw'em away and get a new one. No efficient way to put the non-stick coating back together.

Sorry, but bad advice. You have two choices to restore failed Teflon cookware.

You can refinish them with spray Teflon coating.

Or you can re-season the pan and use it without the coating.

I would treat them just like old cast iron. Glass blast to bare metal and season with lard. Permanent non stick.

I'm not a fan of Teflon. Did you know that a hot Teflon skillet will kill your cockatoo?

Okay, thanks yall.

I'll look for some instruction videos on how to season them.

No disrespect, but why didn't you do this in the first place and be done with it?

I bought these many many years ago when me and my son were out on our own.
I only bought them because they sort of matched the dining set I bought.

Other than working, fixing some things, and paying bills, I was a complete rookie and doing things like cooking and kitchen care.

Ditch the Teflon and buy some good quality cast iron pans. Season them and they are as non-stick as any Teflon pan. They can be re-seasoned anytime. Will last several lifetimes.

Gman

Yep. Cast iron all the way. But a steel skillet properly seasoned is a frying machine.
