A buddy of mine and I just got home from Fork. We only fish Sunday afternoon and Monday and it was our first time to fish Fork this time of year. Years ago I fished Fork in !arch and remember how drastically it changed day to day. One day we would catch 40 and the next we were fighting for a single bite. Yesterday we caught about 12 fish, biggest being 9.4lbs. We had a blast, but what I couldn't understand is why we didn't flat out wear them out. We graphed fish all over e place in 18-22 ft. Lots of yellow bass, but also found a lot of big bass. We would sit on a school for 30 minutes without a bite until we would finally get one. Once we got one, we would catch 3 or so then they would completely shut off again. We threw fb jigs, C-rigs, crankbaits, swimbaits, big worms, dropshot, spoons, ect. I can't figure out why they wouldn't eat better than they were. What makes for a good deep bite on Fork? If they would have bit, we could have had an absolute blast!

From what I have seen and heard you can find but getting them to bite is another thing. You have to be in the right place at the right time and when the dinner bell rings you can catch them.

Good sized schools of big bass are not easy to find these days. You are probably seeing lots of big carp, gar, cats and now whites mixed in all over the lake.
