After a few hours of catching undersized bass with the soon to be wife, we got bored and motored over to deeper water to try our luck on some slabs before we left. I handed her my new crappie rod and dug out my only spare. After missing a few bites (its been a while) I finally landed one! I broke the rod in the process too so it looks like I get another excuse to spend money on a new one! This is the first crappie I've ever caught on EM, and I can tell I was missing some bites on the fall. I hope I can pick up on those soon enough and manage a few more hookups next time out. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Nice crappie. Remember...watch your line or you're apt to miss a lot of bites. Just glue another tip on that pole if you can and you'll have a pole for fishing under short bridges. I've got several of them myself.
