Cypress is a night or weekday lake now. Weekend days is crazy busy and rough. Sandlin and Monti will be where I'll be spending most my time now.

They'll wake you and almost run over you at night, too. Three of our club member boats had problems with an apparently drunk idiot in a big boat at around 1:30 a.m. during our June night tournament there. Not only that, but a lot of the dock owners have apparently gotten together and decided to turn off their lights at night. It's nowhere near the same lake it was even last year, much less several years ago.

You guys are both right. I still love Cypress just hardly ever fish it for the reasons stated above. Reality is I truly believe the guy from TPWD for our lake does want some grass in the lake but he also realizes the other side of things when it comes to those yuppies (which i am far from). The entire state used those carp in the 90's and 2000's and had no idea how effective they would be at completely eradicating the hydrilla. Now that they have seen their effectiveness I think their usage will go down at least in numbers. So for me, I just enjoy the scenery of my back yard on the lake, my neighbors and fish it from Mid Sept-May but even that won't be that often. My boat has seen Monti probably 40+ days this year already with maybe 3 on Cypress. Anyways, we can start this topic on another thread unless Ronnie just wants us to keep the picture of his wife on the front page! hahahaha

I was thinking the same thing. Sorry Ronnie! BTW, your wife and her fish are awesome. Good job out there getting a rod and reel in her hand. My lady used to fish from the back of the boat with me on Cypress. She schooled me more times than I care to admit.

Does anyone pump out of Cypress for drinking water? I mean.... Did they eradicate the grass because it displaced too much water? That's the typical reason I see that vegetation is eliminated but I don't recall seeing any type of pump station out there. I haven't been out there enough to say there isn't one though.

That is awesome. Nice fish. Been trying to encourage my wifey to learn how to cast but all she wants to do is minnow fish over side for Crappie.

I started my wife with crappie jigs and brushpile fishing when we met. It's grown from there. There is a pump station on the west side of the bridge and a lot of people pump water to their lawns. I still enjoy sitting on the dock and watching the scenery coming/going from the marina. Sometimes it's even quite comical.

This was about 10 years ago on Marine Creek in Ft Worth.

This was Blake at Cypress ... He didn't stand a chance! Destined to fish!! Lol!

This was Blake two weeks ago night fishing on Cypress Springs with his Santone finesse jig Ms Kathy gave him.
