The throttle only doesn't work on my 1989 glasstream with a 150 mariner. It's a quicksilver unit, will attach pics. From what I understand there is no direct replacement. Is there a box and cables that'll fit? I tried taking the box I have apart and cleaning and lubibg it but it only made it worse.

Yes a mercury control box from like 1989 thru like 2005 will work fine. You might have to do a little extra wiring for the power trim like add some jumper wires. Your control box is older than 1989. Like 1986-1987.

E-bay item 302031817418 direct replacement except for mounting holes. Much better control box.

Thanks yall I'll look into it. I'm just worried the newer one won't work with the old cables

From what little experience I have with that same control box the cables should work. They make an adapter for the cables if it is different, at least I found one for mine.
