LA lanes are accurate. Texas side gets hairy just north of Palo gaucho to the bridge. Lots of missing markers

They are pretty accurate as stated. A boat lanes chip is beneficial as well.

I have been on TB for most of my life. The Texas Sabine River Authority does a mediocre job at best of maintaining the buoys on the Texas side. Louisiana SBA has flat out got their stuff together, if they are called, they usually have someone out there within a few days or sooner. We have placed more calls to the Texas SBA to report buoys that are missing or have drifted off point, only to see it go months on end with no results.
Have only seen them work on the buoys about 3 times in 15 years. I am certain they get out more than that ( I hope )but it sure doesn't seem that way.
With that said, TB can be very dangerous to navigate, even more so when the water is rough. If I have only one thing to say about navigating TB is, when in doubt, idle it out.

Peace and Bent Rods

Dale

I think you are giving the Texas SRA to much credit calling them mediocre. We have had a place there since 1972 I cannot recall them ever maintaining their buoys when they should. Just my little rant.
