If that goes bad will that cause an engine to shred. Daughter away at college had an O2 sensor go bad and I told her to just drive it till she could make it home over summer. Now it sounds like her engine is shredded and I'm just waiting to get the call from Hyundai explaining that they are not going to warranty it because the O2 sensor was never fixed.

Bad idea she would have been better off to take it to the closest dealership and had it dealt with right away. When the O2 goes bad it will run either lean or rich fuel mixture and neither it good lucky if it only damaged the cat converter. Maybe to late if the cat stops up creates to much back pressure can warp head and or intake if run to long.

Engine is shredded No more Hyundai There is a known problem with metal in the casting process that caused an open recall. That may save us but who knows how they will play it. I'll know more on Monday. Poor kids without wheels and dads possibly out a $motor$

Hyundai is stepping up. Daughter getting a new motor and a loaner car - get this they are giving her a Genesis as an upgrade so she'll be styling for a 21 yr old for about a month. Phew big relief they didn't come back and make it a big hassle.
I threatened to put Moto on the case and they straightened up real quick. The term "boat ramping" is now making the rounds in the Tampa area and people are fearful.
