My dad came in from Midland to do some crappie fishing a few days ago. We only fished a few hours a day but had a great time and caught a few fish. We caught 16 keepers in a few hours yesterday right before the storm. They were a lot shallower than they have been and we just happened to stumble across them in 10-12 feet of water. We didn't really take many pics but here's dad with yeaterday's BFOTD that was actually landed... I had a little issue with dropping the real BFOTD off the side of the boat... We went back to Murvaul today to pick up where we'd left off. I was glad to meet TroyKing and his son at the ramp this morning. We headed to the same area we were catching them yesterday and couldn't buy a bite. Dad caught one on the first drop at about 10' that we would have had to stretch to call 6 inches long and that was it. We slowly worked our way back toward deeper water without getting so much as a bump until we hit the 17' mark. We finally started picking up a fish or two. Eventually we came upon the tree of the day (TOTD?). Almost as soon as we started catching fish, the base of my trolling motor broke in half. I noticed it was torquing a little to one side and then "bam" it broke. I had a trolling motor sticking out 90 degrees with the boat and barely in the water but we were finally on them and kept running it, ha. We picked up 8 keepers off that one tree (had to throw a few back) and decided to call it a day. Bought a new trolling motor on the way home and headed to Caddo tomorrow to do a little sight seeing and fishing. Only finished the day with 10 but we had fun and that's what counts.

Outstanding...not only the fish but taking your dad fishing as well.
To whom much is given, much is required.

It was good to meet you as well...glad you got to fish with your dad.
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?
