I had a SL190 for 14 years. As mentioned above, this type of boat performs most tasks ok, just not great for anything in particular. Can you pull skiers/tubers? Yes, problem is most will not get on plane at low enough speeds to be comfortable for the sky/tuber. Can you fish out of one, heck yes, that's what I did 99.9% of the time. Biggest drawback? No rod storage for most models, especially 18-19' boats. Limited deck space means you must be careful moving the rods around during the day, tackle storage is also usually just ok.
They will take rough water well, fiberglass and longer is always better for this purpose.

My vote for a GP type boat would be a center console if you can find one in your price range. Does all of the above better, just don't expect a speed demon type rig.

I gave up on bass boats a few years ago and got a Skeeter bay pro. I love it!!! I can do anything that I could do in a bass boat except haul a$$ across the lake at mach 37. The center consoles have more room, take rough water well, have an abundance of storage. Put a T-top on it and it'll be even better on those 100 degree days. Biggest advise I can give on the center console boats though is to make sure that sucker is not under powered. If the boat is rated for a max 225, put a 225 on it. If its rated for unlimited, go with a 250 or 300:). If i had it to do over Id go 4stroke as well just for the quietness.

my 2 cents anyway
CC or bay might be my next boat but I will be buying used and most of the ones I see do not have the max HP. I will not buy a boat that does not. I really wanted a Ranger 395V when I bought my 375V but I did not buy one because I could not match the motor to the HP rating on the hull.
